The Manuscripts are riddled with footnotes and marginalia, and many notes and observations have been added to the collection by more recent scholars. This compilation is devoted to these comments, explications and asides. Although they are mostly of great help to the diligent scholar, the reader should be warned that they can sometimes be almost as cryptic as the references that they attempt to illuminate.
